Scatter Creek Dusk

Lately the eastern sky has turned the most beautiful shade of pinky mauvey grey right at dusk. I tend to be looking west at that time of day and its always such a nice surprise to turn around and see something equally as beautiful in a whole different color harmony.

Yeah! Terrific! This one is very moody and evocative. The close-hued palette is lush and rich. Nice work, Deborah!

Lovely...I've noticed that same sky color.

Wow, what a dreamlike painting! You have captured this unusual sky seemingly so effortlessly. Thanks.

Thanks Dean. Its something that seems to happen in the winter- I don't know why but I like it! Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you indiaartist. Actually, this one was a bit of a struggle, but I'm glad it doesn't look that way! Thanks for stopping by.

One of the many things I admire about your work is the way you deal with negative space, especially around trees and shrubbery. That is so difficult to do. Trees scare the pants off me!

Thanks Sheila. After living in New Mexico for 5 years, where the pinon pines are mostly just little green balls dotting the landscape, its nice to have a big variety of trees to paint again!
